Our Story

Evans Fish & Chips began with a simple idea: bring the tradition of a classic British chippy to Flagstaff.

Founded by Doug Evans and Melodie Platt, the shop was inspired by the long history of fish and chips in England, where neighborhood chip shops have served as gathering places for generations. When Evans Fish & Chips opened in downtown Flagstaff in October 2020, the goal was simple: serve authentic, freshly prepared fish and chips and create a welcoming place for the community to enjoy a great meal.

In 2023, Doug and Melodie passed the restaurant on to Justin and Joelle Lovett, who shared their passion for the food and the spirit of the shop.

After Justin’s passing in May 2024, Joelle continues to carry forward the legacy he loved so much. With the support of the Flagstaff community, Evans Fish & Chips remains what it has always been: a place where tradition, great food, and good people come together. Every basket we serve honors the tradition, community, and passion that built Evans Fish & Chips.
